USASA Field Station Augsburg was the site of a Wullenweber AN/FLR-9 radio direction finder, established during the Cold War.

  • This is the Picture Gallery for a webgroup of Army Security Agency and INSCOM veterans of Second Operations Battalion who served at Field Station Augsburg on Gablingen Kaserne. There is a link to a Yahoo webgroup. The Yahoo webgroup was started as a way to share stories & photos, keep in touch, and find old friends. This group is for those veterans who were stationed with the 2ND OPS BN in the mid-70's thru early 80's. The site includes pictures of or links to over 7000 photos of people, Augsburg bases, Bavaria, Europe, and other ASA and NSA stations. Over 36,000 messages have been exchanged between the 550+ 2nd OPS vets who have reconnected since the group was started in Feb, 2005.
