Urmar Tanda is a city and a municipal council in Hoshiarpur district in the Indian state of Punjab.

In the 2001 Indian census,[1] Urmar Tanda had a population of 22,115. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Urmar Tanda has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 71%. In Urmar Tanda, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age. now these days S.SNGAT SINGH GILZIAN IS THE MLA OF THIS AREA..

The city has one government college, one government senior seconday school for boys & one for girls. There are six primary schools in the locality and numerous private schools such as convent schools and other private colleges in the city.

There is one park named "SHIMLA PAHARI" in the middle of the city. It is a common sight in this park to see people running yoga programs on a regular basis. The city has one police station, one government hospital and more than ten private hospitals, three post offices, six different banks, one telephone exchange, one railway station, one bus terminal and one municiple committee office. Tanda has more than 50 food shops and restaurants to serve local food and some fast foods. Tanda has one fresh vegetable market near the police station.
