Urdu Informatics
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Urdu Informatics (Urdu: اردو اطلاعیات) relates to the cutting-edge research and efforts in bringing the utilities and usage of Urdu language to the modern information and communication technologies in education and businesses.
National Language Authority has been at the forefront in introducing Urdu Informatics as a tool for wider standardisation of the language. Apart from development of Urdu keyboard, one of the key steps in this respect has been the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Urdu Informatics in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Works in Urdu Informatics also relate to the use of Urdu for internet applications, input controls, dynamic association of keyboard buttons to Urdu alphabets and use of proper character coding schemes.[1]
