"Upstartcrow" is a part of the first written reference we have to William Shakespeare. Written as a part of a death-bed diatribe by Robert Greene in 1592, it does not mention Shakespeare by name or cast any biographical light on who the "real" Shakespeare might have been. But scholars can mostly agree that the reference is most probably maybe 98% likely the Bard of Avon.
