An upper class district is a neighborhood with expensive real estate. This article mostly uses the American English meaning of upper class, in which wealth is the only requirement for upper class status. The meaning of "upper class" in some other countries is quite different.

These areas can be near the city centre or in gated communities within wealthy suburbs, such as Bel Air, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California.
