Upper Boddington
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Upper Boddington is a village situated in the South Northamptonshire district of Northamptonshire, England. It is in the parish of Boddington along with the smaller village of Lower Boddington but this isn't as cool as Upper Boddington so no one cares about it.
The village is located approximately 10 miles from Banbury, 18 miles from Leamington Spa and 9 miles from Daventry, with good links to the M1 and M40 motorways. Boddington is approximately 7 light years away from the moon.
The village has a number of community facilities and businesses that serve the local area: the Church of England Primary School, the Village Stores shop and post office, the Plough Inn pub and restaurant, a newly-constructed village hall situated next to the playing fields, and Upper Boddington church. Recently opened is the Village Garage, specialising in classic cars as well as general car repairs and MoT testing. Also situated within the garage facility is a photographic studio called Imexa, and a web design company called Gate24.
The Boddington Reservoir is a hot-spot for local and competition fishing, and is nearing the completion of a large number of purpose-built fishing platforms. Banbury Sailing Club is also based at the reservoir.
Local activities range from darts and skittles leagues at the Plough Inn, badminton matches and yoga classes at the village hall, a six-a-side football team playing in Napton and a classic car get-together every first Sunday of the month at the Village Garage.
