Unterseeboot 883 was a German Kriegsmarine Unterseeboot type IXD/42, meaning of the type IX, sub-type D, created in 1942. It was the only commissioned IXD/42, similar to the IXD but with increased engine power (5400 ehp vs. 4400 in IXD).
U-883 was sunk in Operation Deadlight.
