Unterseeboot 34 (also known as U-34) was a German Type VIIA U-boat of the Nazi Kriegsmarine laid down on September 15, 1935 by Germaniawerft at Kiel and commissioned on September 12, 1936.

In 7 patrols U-34 sank 19 ships including 3 warships for a total of 91,989 tons.
- U-34 took a supervisory part in the German Operation Ursula during the Spanish Civil War. Under the command of Kptlt. Harald Grosse, she sank the Spanish submarine C-3 on December 12, 1936.
- On October 20, 1939 she sank the Swedish steamship SS Gustaf Adolf and the British steamship SS Sea Venture near the Shetland Islands.
- On April 13, 1940, she torpedoed and destroyed the wreck of the scuttled Norwegian minelayer HNoMS Frøya
- On July 5, 1940 she sank the British destroyer HMS Whirlwind.
- On August 1, 1940 she sank the British submarine HMS Spearfish.

She sank at 21:55 on August 5, 1943 at Memel in position after a collision with the U-boat tender Lech. Four men died but 39 survived. The boat was raised again on August 24 and stricken on September 8, 1943.
