User:Unschool/Barnstars Issued

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I got this idea from Matthew UND (a great editor, by the way). I just wanted a record of what Barnstars I had given out. There aren't many. Why? It's largely because I had resolved to never give one until after I had received my first. Why? Not because I'm a jerk, but because I felt like I didn't really have the "right" to give them out if I'd not gotten one myself (no, that's not how it works, but it is how I felt). Additionally, on occasion I've seen user pages that looked to me like mutual admiration societies, where User A had returned the favor shortly after getting a Barnstar from User B. I don't know, I believe that Barnstars are a good idea, but that they should be given out thoughtfully. That doesn't mean that I expect others to agree with my rationale for issuing these, but I do want to make it clear that I don't give them out capriciously.

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
For reverting vandalism to my user page—a month ago—only four minutes after it occurred. (In fact, I just noticed it in the user history a few moments ago.) You know, I've never had the distinction of having my user page vandalized before, and with editors like you around, I guess I never have to worry about it. Thanks! The E=mc² Barnstar
For responding to the pleas of non-physics-minded editors for someone competent to clean up Isometries in physics (which had lain in an unreadable condition for ages, with a cleanup tag for two years). Thank you! Unschool (talk) 03:16, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

The Editor's Barnstar
For edits which demonstrate a superior use of language, an understanding (even if unconscious) of the importance of each word chosen, in addition to an in-depth knowledge base of all things GDR, I award you this Editor's Barnstar. Unschool (talk) 23:09, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

What a Brilliant Idea Barnstar
For articulating an idea that others had either never brought to the fore or had not even begun to formulate—the problem of the Plague of Tags—and for the impact that this idea has had on this Project. No, the battle is not won, and may never be, but because of your truly great rant, we know for what we struggle. Unschool (talk) 07:19, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
