University of Scranton Women's Rugby is a collegiate rugby union team at the University of Scranton. It competes in the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union.
University of Scranton Women's Rugby Team applied to the East Penn Rugby Union
in 1991 and became official members in 1992. The team has been growing
ever since. The team mascot is a Valkyrie. The Valkyrie is the norse
god of war. She chooses men to die in bravery, then at their
deaths, leads them to the hall of heroes. Rugby is a club sport
at the University of Scranton.

- Colleen McGloughlin (Jr): Treasurer
- Nikki Melito (Jr): Secretary
The Valkyries record for Spring 2008: 0-5
The Scranton Women's Rugby team is a club sport for anyone who wants to join. No rugby experience is needed to
join this team. The team is always looking for new members and makes them feel at ease and welcome.
Rugby, at times can be a rough sport, but is very fun and the girls on the team are close and look out for each other during the games.
Rugby season is in the fall. That is when wins and losses are actually recorded in the league. However, pre-season
games are played during the fall semester. These games are not recorded, but are a way to practice
and get ready for the upsoming fall semester games.
