University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Economic Law

The University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Economic Law is a scholary journal published by second and third year law students at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Beginning in 1978, the Journal published under the title, Journal of Comparative Business and Capital Market Law. This was replaced with the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Business Law in 1986 before adopting its current title in 1996. In 2007, the Journal broadened its scope, becoming the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law. The Journal now publishes articles on public and private international, comparative, foreign, and transnational law.
The Journal of International Economic Law published four times per year and contained scholarly articles relating to the area of International Economic Law. In addition, a symposium was held once per year on a topic selected by the Journal's Symposium Editors. The 2006 Symposium was titled Open Source in the International Marketplace: What the Open Source Intellectual Property Movement Means for the Developed and Developing Worlds.
In 2007, the Journal reached an important milestone with its first ever citation by the U.S. Supreme Court.
The case, Microsoft v. AT&T, 550 U.S.___ (2007), twice quotes Alan M. Fisch and Brent H. Allen, The Application of Domestic Patent Law to Exported Software: 35 U.S.C. ยง 271(f), 25 U. PA. J. INT'L ECON. L. 557 (2004). This article was the only law review article cited in the opinion.
