The Human Rights Center works locally, nationally, and internationally to provide training, educational materials, and assistance to professionals, students, and volunteers working to promote and protect human rights.
The Center was inaugurated in December 1988 on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Human Rights Center assists human rights advocates, monitors, students, and educators through its programs and resources, including the Human Rights Library, This Is My Home, the Upper Midwest Human Rights Fellowship Program, the International Women’s Rights Action Watch, and the Human Rights and Peace Store. More information on the Center and links to its various programs can be found at http://www.umn.edu/humanrts/center/default.html.
