The University of La Guajira (Spanish: Universidad de La Guajira), (Wayuu: Shikii Ekirajia Pulee Wajira) is a Colombian public university located in the northern Colombian city of Riohacha, Department of La Guajira. The University of La Guajira was founded in February 1977 as a result of a study by the Urban and Regional Planification System (SIPUR).[1]
The Department Assembly of La Guajira created the University of La Guajira by ordinance 011 and 012 of 1976.[2]
