Unity is the code name for a Trans-Pacific submarine communications cable proposed by Google.[1] The cable is planned to have "multi-terabit" capacity.[1]
On 26th February 2008 Google and five telecommunications operators (Bharti Airtel, Global Transit, KDDI, Pacnet, and SingTel) said in a joint statement that the 6,200-mile undersea fiber-optic cable, connecting the United States to Japan, will cost $300 million. [1]
