United States v. ICC

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

United States v. ICC was a U.S. Supreme Court case decided in 1949. The Court held that a dispute between the United States federal government as a shipper and the Interstate Commerce Commission was a justiciable controversy, even though the United States was both a plaintiff and a defendant (i.e., United States v. United States, et al). The case was later cited in the Court's holding in United States v. Nixon that the dispute between the President and the Special Prosecutor was a justiciable controversy.
