[edit] History

The USGLC was created in 1995 in response to a threatening atmosphere that large cuts on the International Affairs Budget would be enacted by Congress. Several organizations joined together in order to bring back an internal sense importance and support toward the U.S. role in international leadership. Organizations ranging from multinational corporations such as Catepillar to private humanitarian groups such as Mercy Corps have joined together, along with individuals across the nation, to form the USGLC. Since its creation, spending for the International Affairs Budget has increased by 40 percent in Congress. [3]
