United Nations Office at Nairobi

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is one of the four major UN office sites where several different UN agencies have a joint presence. The office complex is located in Nairobi, Kenya.

In November 2004, the United Nations Security Council held a rare session at Nairobi to discuss the situations in southern and western Sudan.[1] The meeting was convened at the urging of then-Ambassador John Danforth of the United States.[2]
