Union Station Security in Toronto was created in 1996, under retired CN Police Inspector D. Charles. Due to high costs of maintaining CN Police Service in Union Station, Toronto Terminals Railway (TTR) decided to have a contract security take over from CN Police. Inspector Charles remained with the operation to oversee the transition from Police to Security maintaining the same level of service as CN Police had once provided.
