The Union for the New Republic (Frenc: L'Union pour la Nouvelle République) (UNR), is a French political party founded 1 October 1958 and supported General Charles de Gaulle in June (French Fifth Republic) presidential election.

The UNR won 206 of 579 deputies in the November 1958 elections.
In 1962 the UNR regrouped with the Union démocratique du travail (UDT) to for the UNR-UDT. They obtained 233 deputies of 482, slightly less than an absolute majority. The 35 Républicains-Indépendants boost their support.
