There are many expressions of the Christian movement Cursillo. Initially founded in Majorca, Spain by a group of laymen in 1944, the movement has spread across the world. As it has spread it has also diverged organizationally.
Unidos en Cristo is an expression of the Cursillo movement, based in Minnesota, USA. The first Minnesota Cursillo was held in 1972, the 226th weekend was held in 2007.
In 1998, The United Cursillo Community of MN, responding to a request from the Catholic Cursillo organization, respectfully adopted the name of Unidos en Cristo (say "oo-knee-dose en creestow", think "United in Christ"). This change was made to remove the branded name "Cursillo" from the organization title.
