Adjusted some of the USM-POV points out of the previous: "The University of Southern Maine is Maine's largest university, with campuses in Portland, Gorham, Augusta and Lewiston."

1- The definition of largest is vague. The claim made by USM is simply the largest number of students enrolled, but this doesn't correctly weight part-time students, or continuing non-degree students as usual college statistics do. Because of that, the actual number of full-time equivalent students is technically lower than the same statistic at the University of Maine.

2- The campus at Augusta? Currently the University of Maine System chancellor's plan to merge the University of Maine at Augusta into USM was thoroughly rejected by the state legislature, (and by the faculty of UMA), so that claim is also dubious. --Sturmde 20:58, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
