As the city of Fribourg in Switzerland is in the French speaking part, Fribourg and not Freiburg would be the correct name. The German University of Freiburg does not use the Albert Ludwigs prefix in English (please check out the university's website and a recent by the university's press office). I have thus decided to move the German University of Freiburg to this location and kept the University of Fribourg as a disambiguation. RoDeWo (talk) 05:19, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

All the ancient German universities include their founders names in the title of their wiki pages (see LMU, Heidelberg, Göttingen etc...). So, for consistency's sake, why not moving back? BTW: I added your two Max Planck Research Schools for International Criminal Law; since they are joint initiatives of MPG and the university (the PhDs are awarded by the university), I'd suggest moving all the MPRS to the grad schools section. best regards from heidelberg Fred Plotz (talk) 15:40, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the help, Fred! I would still recommend staying under this title, since the PR department at the university recently published its official guidelines for translation of university-related German terms into English and list the official translation as University of Freiburg.([1]).

Oh, you're welcome, it's not worth mentioning. I was about to move as well weeks ago, but I decided not to do for the reasons mentioned above. Of course, internationally no one knows the full name, and even our merchandising articles do not mention Ruprecht Karl, except for the coat of arms. I'll see what the others do and maybe I'll change my mind. By the way thanks for the flowers, you're doing fine as well. I've developed some kind of "alma mater patriotism" while doing this. More people should do so. If you want to upload official university pictures, you may give your press office a call, and normally they are happy to grant the permission to upload low resolution pics as "own work", at least ours did so.
