Category talk:United States Navy admirals

How come there is nothing on Admiral John Henry Towers, the father of Naval Aviation by many?

The admiral James Shepherd Freeman is listed by his first name, not his last. This should be corrected.

[edit] U.S. vs. United States?

Why was this category changed from "U.S. Navy admirals"? It would seem to increase clutter in the (sometimes long) list of categories over an article, without really adding anything, since the article itself ought to have "United States Navy"—spelled out and linked—pretty early on. —wwoods 00:42, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

I too am somewhat confused by this change. If it in order to conform with some standards, I suppose that is fine by me, however there exists a few more categories related to this one that have not been modified. For example Category:U.S. Navy officers, and Category:U.S._Army_officers among others. I think we need to hammer out this U.S. vs. United States thing, and come to some sort of consensus. -- malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 18:54, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
