Underofficer

Underofficer is a literal translation from several languages, referring to officers from corporals to senior warrant officers. The term non-commissioned officer is nearly synonymous, but not identical. Some militaries commission warrant officers. Some militaries have conscripted officers from second lieutenant to major, who are non-commissioned.
