Undergroundfilm is an American global film website. Founded in New York in 1998, Undergroundfilm is one of the longest-running sites dedicated to independent film. [[1]]

[edit] Organization and History

The stated mission of Undergroundfilm is to bring new audiences to independent film through digital distribution. [[2]]

Undergroundfilm moved its operations to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2002 and continued its work as a non-profit organization. Once there, the company began to explore new digital distribution pathways such as set-top boxes and handheld devices.

Wired magazine has referred to Undergroundfilm as "a place on the web for serious filmmakers."[3]
