This seems really strange: Frances Mayes is a real person, the author of Under the Tuscan Sun, the book of her own experiences (of rehabbing a house in Cortona), on which the movie is based. Is there some reason, some agenda, why neither the book, nor the author, nor the place is mentioned in this article???? — Bill 15:31, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

I was in Florence earlier this year. Apparently many tuscans are very upset with this movie, as it caused a boom in foreigners buying houses in Tuscany and only visiting very rarely, rising housing prices but not really contributing to the community. Is this effect worth mentioning in the article. ---Spacedragonblue 15:56, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
