Armor of Sand

Using this jutsu, Gaara can cover himself in a compacted layer of sand, providing an additional defense should his Shield of Sand fail. Though quite effective, maintaining the armor requires a large amount of chakra and stamina.
Armor of Sticky Gold

Beast Human Clone

A modified version of a transformation technique, this jutsu allows a user to transform their animal companion into a perfect copy of themselves. When combined with the Four Legs Technique, the user and the animal become virtually impossible to tell apart, since both act equally animalistic. Like any transformation, the jutsu can be broken by identifying and attacking the animal, thus dispelling the transformation. This jutsu is often followed by the Double Piercing Fang.
Black Secret Technique Machine One Shot

To perform this jutsu, Kankuro's opponent must be trapped in the torso of Kuroari. After this is accomplished, Karasu separates into about eight components, each with a sharp blade. Kankuro guides the separate pieces into slits in Kuroari's torso, impaling the victim inside. The name of this secret technique is a play on a popular Japanese toy "Kurohige Kiki Ippatsu" [1], known in America as "Pop-Up Pirate," in which the goal of the toy is to stick little plastic swords into a barrel to make the pirate in the center jump out. In the second Naruto movie, Kuroari can do this technique alone using Black Secret Technique Machine Two Shot.
Body Flicker Technique

This jutsu is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily boost the user's reflexes. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance between the user and their intended destination. Shisui Uchiha, one of the most talented Uchiha, was feared as "Shisui of the Body Flicker" (瞬身のシスイ, Shunshin no Shisui?) , likely referring to this technique.
The Body Flicker technique has various variations among the different hidden villages, all of which involve some extra element aside from the movement itself. The extra element is usually some sort of substance used to distract the opponent, such as leaves or sand. Gaara, for instance, uses the "Sand Body Flicker" (砂瞬身, Suna-Shunshin?), which uses sand to cover his movements. Other varieties include the "Mist Body Flicker" (霧瞬身, Kiri-Shunshin?), "Water Body Flicker" (水瞬身, Mizu-Shunshin?), and "Leaf Body Flicker" (木ノ葉瞬身, Konoha-Shunshin?).
Body Replacement Technique

This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. Fundamentally, all ninja know this technique.
The anime has a number of other objects being used for this jutsu, such as a boulder, mud, a scarecrow, and even a large rolled-up carpet. These items are usually nowhere in sight, suggesting that they are merely gags meant to lighten up the situation and not an actual part of the jutsu. Additionally, the normal practice of switching places with a section of log is done in several places that have no such thing anywhere nearby.
This technique is sometimes referred to as the Art of Projection ("Utsusemi no Jutsu") in other manga and anime series.
Bug Clone Technique

Using the Kikaichu bugs living in their body, the user can create a copy of themselves or anyone else they choose. The clone falls apart into its component bugs when struck. Because they're made of bugs, the clones can reform almost instantly.

Chakra Absorption Technique

This jutsu allows the user to absorb the physical and spiritual energy of an opponent. The user doesn't have to actually touch the opponent, since it is also possible to use it through other media, as Jirobo did with his Earth Release Barrier: Dungeon Chamber of Nothingness. The only necessary condition is some medium through which chakra can be channeled.
The Chakra Absorption Technique is not truly considered a jutsu since it has never been given an entry in any of the databooks, but more of a special ability; however, it is not considered a kekkei genkai ability, either.
Cloak of Invisibility Technique

This jutsu allows a ninja to take a cloak or a piece of cloth and blend into an object, making them invisible. Konohamaru uses this technique constantly in the beginning of the Naruto series to try and fool Naruto Uzumaki, but uses poor disguises (square rocks with eyeholes, cloaks that are incorrectly patterned or the wrong way round, or simply not covering himself completely), thus betraying the illusion. In the anime, Naruto has been somewhat practical at using this jutsu a couple of times.
Clone Great Explosion

This jutsu works in combination with the Shadow Clone Technique to create a shadow clone that will explode on command. The blast created is considerable, and could potentially kill an attacker engaged in hand-to-hand combat.
Clone Technique

This technique creates intangible clones of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).
Combination Transformation

An advanced form of the Transformation Technique, the Combination Transformation transforms two users into one being. One user usually provides the chakra while the other performs the necessary hand seals. Naruto uses this with Gamabunta in their fight against Gaara's full Shukaku form to become a giant fox. Kiba and Akamaru use a variation of this technique in their fight against Sakon and Ukon, transforming themselves into a giant two-headed wolf. The Sound Four used this during the Chunin Exam to disguise themselves as the Kazekage's two bodyguard attendants (two in each).
Creation Rebirth

By releasing chakra that has been stored up for a relatively long period of time in the seal on her forehead with Shadow Seal: Release, Tsunade is able to heal all her wounds almost instantaneously, regardless of the severity of the injuries. She can even regrow lost organs and limbs if necessary. Additionally, she continues to heal at an accelerated rate for the duration of the jutsu. Unfortunately, this technique has a drawback; using it speeds up cell division, and it shortens her life span.
Dead Soul Technique

Using this jutsu, a person can temporarily reanimate a corpse, creating the illusion of a living person. This is achieved by causing the heart to beat once more, allowing the user to control the corpse. The reanimated corpse can serve as either a short-time ally or an effective decoy.
Desert Coffin

This jutsu uses sand to grab the opponent and cover their entire body. This skill is primarily utilized for rendering an opponent immobile, but can kill the opponent by suffocation or by being followed with the Desert Funeral, which crushes them.
It should be noted that Gaara crushed Rock Lee's left arm and leg during their battle in the Chunin Exams, and crushed Deidara's arm in the Rescue Gaara Arc, with just Desert Coffin, implying that Desert Coffin itself has its own crushing effect. However, Gaara makes the hand motion that he typically makes when using Desert Funeral in this particular instance.
Desert Funeral

After wrapping an opponent with sand, Gaara will cause the sand to implode and crush whatever is within. When used to kill a person, the death is so quick that there isn't even time to feel pain. The pressure also produces a sizable fountain of blood. Gaara can control the pressure used in the attack, which allows him to merely break bones or completely liquefy an opponent.
Desert Imperial Funeral

Following the Quicksand in the Style of a Waterfall, Gaara slams both hands palm down into the sand, creating powerful shockwaves that compress the sand. Anything buried in the sand is subsequently crushed.

This jutsu is a massive version of Gaara's Desert Coffin, using an entire desert's worth of sand to trap an opponent.
Desert Suspension

Using his sand as a platform, Gaara is able to float in the air.
Destruction Bug Host Technique

The Aburame clan is famed for their use of insects in their jutsu. When a child is born, their body is offered to insects, called destruction bugs, as a nest. The bugs feed and live off the chakra that the body stores and in return the ninja gets to control and command the bugs, using them as their primary fighting technique. These bugs have the ability to drain chakra through physical contact with the enemy.
Drowning Maelstrom Technique

This jutsu combines Yamato's Water Release: Rapid Crasher with Naruto's Wind Release: Spiraling Sphere to create a powerful waterspout.
Earth Release Barrier: Dungeon Chamber of Nothingness

This jutsu traps the victims inside a self-repairing dome of earth. Jirobo is able to absorb the chakra of anyone trapped inside, something he enjoys greatly. Jirobo's chakra is distributed throughout the dome, but not equally. Near the back (relative to him), less chakra is present, making the dome weaker in that spot.
Earth Release: Earth Flow Rampart

This jutsu raises a large ridge or hill from the ground. Yamato uses this technique along with Water Release: Waterfall Basin Technique while demonstrating elemental chakra types to Naruto, creating a waterfall as an example.
Earth Release: Earth Mausoleum Dumpling

Jirobo is able to overturn the earth into a large dumpling-shaped chunk of earth the size of a mausoleum. Using his immense strength, he can lift up the ball and hurl it at his opponent, flattening everything in its path.

After striking the ground with his hands, Jirobo creates a large wall of earth that rises into place as defense. The defense is not perfect though, since a hard or drilling impact can puncture the wall.

Earth Release: Split Earth Turn Around Palm

This technique causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them.
Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld

This jutsu turns a large area of land into a sinking swampland, making it impossible for anyone or anything in that area to move around. The size of the swamp is proportionate to the amount of chakra used to perform the technique. When performed by a drugged Jiraiya, this technique only created a large, semi-deep swamp that merely inhibited the movement of the snakes it was targeting. When performed properly, it is supposed to engulf the target completely.
Earth Release: Underground Projection Fish Technique

Exploding Tag: Activate

Utilizing chakra, the user is able to activate the explosion mechanism of a distant bomb tag. The exploding tags that the Third Hokage used were different than the usual bomb tags, being yellow in color instead of white with a red border.
Feigning Sleep Technique

Utilizing a large amount of chakra, a large ball of flame is exhaled from the user's mouth. When an Uchiha clan member masters this technique, they are recognized as an adult. This technique also seems to be fairly common amongst Konoha's Chunin-level ninja.
Fire Release: Intense Pain

After being released from Kakuzu's back, the lion mask can blow a massive blast of flame from its mouth which spreads quickly across the ground, devastating a wide area.
Fire Release: Phoenix Immortal Fire Technique

This jutsu sends multiple balls of fire at a target. It is also possible to hide shurikens within the fireballs, creating an unexpected secondary surprise attack. For the most part, however, this jutsu is used as a distraction. Oki's form is less effective, shown when Naruto just brushed it away.
Fire Release: Toad Oil Flame Bullet

Gamabunta spits out a large amount of oil, which is then ignited by the user. Jiraiya uses Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique to ignite the oil while Naruto uses an exploding tag since he doesn't know any fire techniques. The sheer amount of oil Gamabunta is capable of spitting allows this jutsu to reach further and cover a much larger area than any other known fire jutsu.
Flapping One Thousand Birds

Using the power gained through the level 2 form of his Cursed Seal of Heaven, the One Thousand Birds that Sasuke Uchiha was taught to use as a "blade" to protect his comrades is warped into a dark version of itself that is used to sever his ties with them. In contrast to the usual chirping of birds that the One Thousand Birds is known for, this technique emits a noise much like that of a large number of birds taking flight. Its power far surpasses that of the normal One Thousand Birds.
Flying Thunder God Technique
* Name: Hiraishin no Jutsu, 飛雷神の術, literally "Flying Thunder God Technique" * Type: S-rank, Supplementary, All ranges * Users: Fourth Hokage
This jutsu was created by the Fourth Hokage and the reason behind his nickname, "The Yellow Flash of Konoha" (木ノ葉の黄色い閃光, Konoha no Kīroi Senkō?). It allows the user to move over large distances with ultra-high speed. Although it is often compared with the Body Flicker Technique, the speed of this jutsu is much greater. In principle, it is similar to the Summoning Technique, but instead of bringing something to users, it sends them somewhere. Additionally, it makes no noise and produces no puff of smoke, allowing the user to appear behind someone unnoticed.
To activate this jutsu, the user needs a special seal or "jutsu formula" (術式, jutsu-shiki?) to mark the destination. After this is done, the user can almost instantaneously transport himself to that location. The Fourth applied the formula in advance to weapons such as kunai. It is also possible to leave a formula in an area touched by the user.
This technique is the reason Konoha came out victorious in the Iwa-Konoha Ninja War. After having his subordinates toss marked kunai randomly into the enemy ranks, the Fourth used the technique to appear within their ranks and slaughter them one by one before they could even react.
The Japanese name Hiraishin is also the phonic of the Japanese word 避雷針, which means lightning rod.
Four Legs Technique

This technique gives some increase of strength and speed to the user, as well as lengthening their nails into claws. Travel in this mode is somewhat akin to a dog's fast run. Users of this technique also tend to act more feral when using it.
Great Ball Spiraling Sphere

This is simply a larger and more powerful version of the Spiraling Sphere, but also more unstable. Naruto needs a clone to form and control the energy. According to the anime, Naruto develops this technique at the encouragement of Jiraiya to take the Spiraling Sphere to a higher level. Naruto uses this jutsu to defeat Yura disguised as Itachi Uchiha by way of the Shapeshifting Technique. This is the one and only instance this jutsu is seen.
Harem Technique

This jutsu combines the Shadow Clone Technique and the Sexy Technique to create multiple clones of a beautiful, nude woman (or in a bathing suit, as in some filler episodes and the video games). Naruto uses a modified form of this technique in episode 193 when he transforms into dozens of clones of Sakura Haruno (still clothed) in order to confuse Rock Lee. Konohamaru has developed smaller scale versions of this jutsu, one meant to be used against girls, and another to be used against guys.
Healing Resuscitation Regeneration Technique

This jutsu uses a part of the patient's body as a medium to heal their wounds. It requires an almost room-wide seal and a great deal of time to complete. The medic-nin on hand actually have to trade places after tiring, indicating just how long it takes. This was used successfully on Neji Hyuga during the Sasuke Retrieval arc.
Hidden Shadow Many Snakes Hand

This jutsu is similar to the Hidden Shadow Snake Hand, but with far more snakes. In addition, these snakes can stretch to much greater lengths.
Hidden Shadow Snake Hand

This jutsu allows the user to project a number of snakes from their wrist or sleeve as they make a punching motion towards their intended target. The snakes can be used to inflict multiple wounds at a distance or hold a target in place. The snakes are even capable of poisoning the victim.
Hiding Camouflage Technique
* Name: Meisaigakure no Jutsu, 迷彩隠れの術, literally "Hiding Camouflage Technique" * Type: A-rank, Supplementary * Users: Taiseki, Kabuto Yakushi, Kamizuru clan, Kedoi clan
This jutsu renders the user invisible. It also masks the user's scent to some degree, making it more difficult to locate them. While normal people can't see through it, those with abilities such as the Sharingan and the Byakugan can. Additionally, creatures with enhanced senses of smell (insects or dogs) can pick up on the user's reduced scent. In the anime, Kabuto has been seen using this technique in the Forest of Death. Quite a few ninja in the filler arcs of the anime also know this technique.
Hiding Mist Technique

This jutsu envelops the surrounding area in a dense mist, reducing visibility within the affected area. The density can be controlled by the user, allowing them to create a mist so thick that even they can't see through it.
Human Puppet

This jutsu, created by Sasori, allows the puppeteer to turn a living human into a puppet. First, the entrails are removed. Then, once the skin has been peeled off, the user cleanses them and draws out all of the blood. Once the bodies are preserved so they do not decompose, various gadgets are then installed inside of them. Because the puppet was once human, it can still use chakra. The puppet will maintain the same amount of chakra as its held when it was alive. If the original ninja had any kekkei genkai or other blood-based traits, like the Third Kazekage's Iron Sand, the puppet can retain those abilities as well.
Puppets

Important Body Points Disturbance

By converting a small amount of chakra into electricity and hitting her opponent's brain stem, Tsunade can disrupt the regular flow of electrical signals from the target's brain to other parts of the target's body. For example, if the target tried to move their right arm, their left leg would move instead.
Kusanagi Sword: Long Sword of the Heavens
* Name: Kusanagi no Tsurugi: Kū no Tachi, 草薙の剣・空の太刀, literally "Kusanagi Sword: Long Sword of the Heavens", English TV "The Grass Long Sword" * Type: B-rank, Offensive, Short to mid-range (0-10m) * Users: Orochimaru
This technique arms Orochimaru with the Kusanagi (草薙, "Grass Halberd") of Japanese legend. To retrieve it, Orochimaru opens his mouth and a snake comes out. The snake then opens its mouth and produces the Kusanagi. The sword can be produced either handle or blade-first, allowing Orochimaru to wield it from his mouth if necessary. The sword can cut through almost any object, its blade can extend to many times its normal length, and it can be controlled remotely by Orochimaru.
The sword is depicted differently in the anime and manga. In the anime, it is a guardless, double-edged jian, while it is depicted more like an ordinary katana in the manga.
Sasuke Uchiha also has a Kusanagi sword, which he amplifies with his One Thousand Birds Current. Sasuke's sword, however, is not the same legendary sword. Sasuke's Kusanagi resembles a chokuto in a shirasaya (a wooden sheath designed to conceal or store a blade for a long time). Additionally, Sasuke carries his Kusanagi rather than summoning it, so he can draw the sword very quickly. Lastly, his Kusanagi doesn't seem to stretch like the real version does.
In the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series, Orochimaru can summon more than one Kusanagi blade and control them using his chakra.
Last Absolute Defense: Shield of Shukaku

Using sand, Gaara can create a toy-like replica of Shukaku roughly twice his size. The replica is created with extreme pressure and the hardest minerals in the area combined with his chakra, making it virtually indestructible. Although this technique requires a lot of chakra, it does provide for a very powerful defense. The main drawback is that the replica is immobile, which restricts its usage in most situations.
Leech All Creation: Attack Prevention Technique

Using this jutsu, the user can merge with another object and take on its properties to avoid any damage. In the manga, Orochimaru uses this to merge with a tree just before his battle with his former student, Anko Mitarashi. He, however, does not give it a name.

This jutsu is an enhanced form of the One Thousand Birds, and has the same, albeit more powerful, effect. Kakashi is the only one able to use it, and it is named as such because he once cut a lightning bolt with it before it hit the ground. This jutsu requires a larger amount of chakra and better chakra control. This is exemplified in their respective appearances. Whereas the One Thousand Birds creates a large mass of chakra in one hand that appears near-white, the Lightning Blade is considerably more concentrated and appears in the normal blue color of chakra. Kakashi can only use this technique four times in a given day.
After the timeskip, Kakashi is able to create a Lightning Blade in each hand to attack two targets in unison, similar to the Twin Lightning Blade introduced in Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2. Unlike its video game predecessor, however, Kakashi merely creates a Lightning Blade in each hand instead of splitting an existing one. He also demonstrates the ability to surround his own hand in electricity to increase the effectiveness of a chop. Doing so doesn't appear to be as stressful as the full technique, since he can do it in addition to his four-time limit.
Lightning Release: False Darkness

After being released from Kakuzu's back, the ox mask can charge and fire two lightning bolts from its mouth.
Living Corpse Reincarnation

This jutsu, developed by Orochimaru, allows him to transfer his soul to another's body. If repeated periodically, it basically grants Orochimaru immortality as long as he can find new host bodies. In order to perform the jutsu Orochimaru must first leave the body he inhabits via revealing his true form. He then swallows his chosen container and the pair of them enter a dimension within himself similar to the innards of a snake. Once there Orochimaru "digests" his victim by covering them in snakes made from the fleshy lining of the dimension, leaving only their face uncovered. Within this dimension remain the souls of every living person he has used as a container. From here he takes control of the container's body, which emerges from the molted shell of his snake body, thus completing the jutsu ritual. As shown with Orochimaru's attempts on Itachi Uchiha and Sasuke Uchiha, this jutsu can be blocked and reversed by the Sharingan.
Orochimaru can only perform this technique once every three years. It also seems that when the three years are almost over, he is forced to move into another host, as the previous one begins to reject him. This rejection may be due to Orochimaru's hosts being unable to contain his considerable power. Presumably, if he had a proper container, he could stay in the host for a full lifetime.
Man Beast Combination Transformation: Double-Headed Wolf

Manipulating Windmill Triple Blades

Utilizing the abilities of the Sharingan, Sasuke is able to control shuriken that have wire cords attached to them (two held with the hands and one with the mouth) and manipulate their paths to tie an opponent to a nearby large object, binding them. If there is no object, the shuriken will impale the opponent.
Mind Body Disturbance Technique
* Name: Shinranshin no Jutsu, 心乱身の術, literally "Mind Body Disturbance Technique" English, "Mind Destruction Jutsu". * Type: B-rank, Supplementary, Short to mid-range (0-10m) * Users: Yamanaka clan
This jutsu is a variation on the Mind Body Switch Technique. Instead of transferring the user's consciousness, this jutsu sends a spirit of confusion into a target, causing them to attack their allies. Although the target is aware of what they are doing, they are unable to stop themselves. For this particular jutsu, the user is able to stay in their own body, unlike its predecessor; however, the user must maintain the hand seal used to activate it. Ino Yamanaka has learned this jutsu in the anime, but has yet to display it in the manga.
Mind Body Switch Technique
* Name: Shintenshin no Jutsu, 心転身の術, literally "Mind Body Switch Technique", Viz "Art of the Valentine", English TV "Ninja Art: Mind Transfer Jutsu" * Type: C-rank, Supplementary, Short to mid-range (0-10m) * Users: Yamanaka clan
This jutsu allows the user to send their mind into a target's body (even an animal's), supplanting the target's mind with their own. Though normally used as a spying jutsu, it can also be used in battle with several major drawbacks. First, the user's spirit travels slowly, making it easy to dodge. If the user misses their target, they are left helpless until their spirit returns to their body, which takes several minutes. Second, even if the technique does work, the user's ability to stay in an enemy's body is determined by how fatigued they are. The user can be forced out if facing a strong enough will (or two wills, in Sakura Haruno's case), are too tired, or if the target is in incredible pain. Finally, any damage the user suffers while possessing another is transferred to their original body. Therefore, if the target dies, so does the user.
Art of the Valentine, which is used along with Shintenshin no Jutsu in the Viz English manga, is not a literal translation of Shintenshin no Jutsu, although Shintenshin is a Japanese card game that literally means "Change of Heart".
Multi-Size Technique

This is a secret jutsu passed down in the Akimichi clan that expands the user's stomach. This jutsu increases the user's body size by using up the user's food energy, converting calories into chakra. Akimichi clan members tend to eat fattening foods and have large physiques in order to support this technique.
Multiple Shadow Clone Technique
* Name: Tajū Kage Bunshin no Jutsu, 多重影分身の術, literally "Multiple Shadow Clone Technique" or "Mass Shadow Replication Technique", English TV "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu" * Type: A-rank, Supplementary * Users: Naruto Uzumaki, Kakashi Hatake
This jutsu is basically a massive version of the Shadow Clone Technique. Instead of a few clones, it creates a few hundred clones (or a number of equal grandeur). This is considered a forbidden technique, because it can potentially be dangerous to the person performing it, seeing as how all of the clones are given an equal amount of chakra directly from the user. Naruto learned the technique from the scroll of forbidden seals written by the First Hokage and used it to save Iruka Umino from Mizuki. Few people are able to use this technique effectively, due to the large amount of chakra it consumes. This weakness does not apply to Naruto due to his demon fox chakra, which allows him to create upwards of 2,000 clones while maintaining a decent supply of chakra in each one. This technique is also used by Naruto to train quickly, since all the clones share their experiences with Naruto, but it causes extreme fatigue with repeated use.
Mystical Palm Technique

This jutsu is a multi-purpose medical technique used by medic-nin to heal wounds and perform surgery. For the former, the user concentrates chakra to their hand and applies it to a wound, speeding up cell regeneration. For the latter, the user focuses their chakra into a blade to make cuts where necessary. Because it is done with chakra, the user doesn't need to cut through their target's skin to reach muscles and organs. For this to be applied effectively in healing, a large amount of chakra is required. Using it to cut seems to be less chakra-intensive. This cutting aspect of this jutsu can also be used in combat, though it requires incredible precision on the user's part to be effective.
Needle Guardian

Using this jutsu, Jiraiya can grow and harden his spiked hair to form a shield around him, protecting against most physical attacks and possibly injuring the attacker. After the timeskip, Choji Akimichi uses a similar technique to form the spikes for his Spiked Human Bullet Tank technique.
One Thousand Birds Sasuke using One Thousand Birds Sasuke using One Thousand Birds

This jutsu is Kakashi's only original technique, though he now uses an S-ranked version known as the Lightning Blade. He created it around the time he was promoted to Jonin, and later taught it to Sasuke. This jutsu channels a large amount of chakra into the user's arm. The amount of chakra is so great that it becomes visible to the naked eye. The technique actually alters the nature of the user's chakra, effectively converting it into electricity. As a side effect of the conversion process, the large amount of chakra, and the speed at which the user moves, this technique makes a loud noise similar to many birds chirping, hence the name (if the user is not in motion, it merely makes an electric crackling sound). Once the technique is completed, the user charges forward and stabs their enemy with it. The amount of thrust combined with the large concentration of chakra allows the user to stab through almost anything; as such it is usually fatal to the enemy. This technique is classified as an assassination technique because of the speed at which it is performed, despite the loud noise it produces.
This jutsu has a major drawback, however. The speed at which the attack must be done, combined with the fact that the user must run in a straight line, causes a tunnel vision-like effect for the user. This allows their enemy to easily counter the attack, making it a potentially lethal move for the user. Though this drawback would seem to make learning the technique fairly pointless, Sasuke and Kakashi are able to avoid the drawback because of their Sharingan eyes, which take in every detail regardless of how fast the user is moving. As an additional drawback, the large amount of chakra required limits its use to a few times a day (two for Sasuke, four for Kakashi). Sasuke can manage one more than normal with the use of his cursed seal. Should the user attempt to go beyond their limit, all of their chakra will be drained and their very life force could go along with it, killing them. An additional problem, though not necessarily a debilitating one, is the fact that the large amount of chakra can also injure the user's hand if they put too much force into the attack. Sasuke does this while battling his brother, Itachi, causing some of the skin to peel from his hand and leaving it slightly smoldering after the attack was finished.
In real history, Chidori was the name of katana owned by famous samurai Dousetsu Tachibana. The legend says that one day Dousetsu was neary hit by a lightning bolt while taking shelter from rain under a tree. He escaped by using his katana, Chidori, to split the lightning in half. Thereafter the name of the katana was changed to Raikiri (雷切), in this context meaning "lightning cutter". Chidori also means plover.
One Thousand Birds Current
* Name: Chidori Nagashi, 千鳥流し, literally "One Thousand Birds Current" * Type: Unknown * Users: Sasuke Uchiha
A variation on a regular One Thousand Birds developed by Sasuke during his two-and-a-half year training with Orochimaru, this jutsu allows Sasuke to cover himself in electricity, instead of just concentrating it in his hand. The electricity can be channeled anywhere, allowing Sasuke to enhance his attacks with it. Because it is channeled throughout his entire body and not concentrated, the electricity will only cause temporary paralysis instead of killing an opponent. While this is not a problem in one-on-one battles, it does allow others to save their comrade if Sasuke is outnumbered. Sasuke can also channel the electricity through his Kusanagi sword, increasing its overall strength and cutting power.
Partial Multi-Size Technique
* Name: Bubun Baika no Jutsu, 部分倍化の術, literally "Partial Multi-Size Technique", English Games "Partial Expansion Jutsu" * Type: Hiden, No rank, Supplementary * Users: Akimichi clan
This is a secret jutsu passed down in the Akimichi clan. It is similar in practice to the Multi-Size Technique, but allows a user to increase the size of any body part.
Poison Extraction Technique
* Name: Dokunuku no Jutsu, 毒抜きの術, literally "Poison Extraction Technique" * Type: Unknown * Users: Sakura Haruno
This ornate jutsu uses chakra to literally pull foreign materials from someone's body, no doubt requiring precise control on the user's part to avoid causing further internal injuries to their patient. Sakura uses this technique to remove Sasori's poison from Kankuro after their battle. None of the medic-nin on hand could perform the technique, so it is no doubt quite difficult to perform properly.
Prison Sand Burial
* Name: Gokusamaisō, 獄砂埋葬, literally "Prison Sand Burial" * Type: No rank, Offensive, Short to mid-range (0-10m) * Users: Gaara
Using this jutsu, Gaara can quickly loosen the ground below his opponent and cause them sink beneath hundreds of meters of sand. Gaara then compresses the sand to such an extent that his opponent is unable to even move a finger. Gaara uses the technique without naming it. The name is given in the second databook.
Projectile Weapons
* Name: Tobidōgu, 飛道具, literally "Projectile Weapons" * Type: Unknown * Users: Most ninja
In order to store and use items or weapons that the user would never be capable of carrying normally, the user can keep them contained within summoning scrolls. Puppets commonly have such scrolls attached to hidden compartments to produce extra arms and other similar features. Like the Summoning Technique, a small donation of blood is required to summon the items.
Projection Technique
* Name: Utsusemi no Jutsu, 空蝉の術, literally "Projection Technique" * Type: Unknown * Users: Zabuza Momochi, Orochimaru, Jigumo
Using this jutsu, the user can project their voice from various points in a specific area in a manner similar to ventriloquism. The user does not need to speak to transmit the sound, so tracking them by sound is impossible. Those in the area where the voice is being projected at will hear a resonating echo, as well as a more ominous undertone.
Projection Technique is only known as a jutsu in the Naruto anime. It was first used in the Naruto manga by Zabuza Momochi and Orochimaru with no name. In addition, this technique has never been given an entry name in the databooks, which more than likely means it is more of a skill than a jutsu, much like walking up walls or walking on water using chakra.
Puppet Technique
* Name: Kugutsu no Jutsu, 傀儡の術, literally "Puppet Technique", Viz "Art of the Puppet Master", English TV "Puppet Master Jutsu" * Type: C-rank, Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary, Short to mid-range (0-10m) * Users: Kankuro, Sasori, Chiyo, Monzaemon Chikamatsu
This jutsu uses strings of chakra from the user's fingers to control puppets like marionettes. Those who can effectively use this ability are rare, but once mastered the user can hide in a safe location while his puppet does the work for him. Since puppets are usually equipped with an array of often-fatal instruments, fighting a puppet is much more dangerous than fighting a human.
This skill is often prepared in coordination with the Body Replacement Technique so the user can quickly switch places with their puppet when necessary. Another useful quality of this skill is the fact that the puppet can take the form of another person, usually its user, allowing the user to trick their enemy into thinking they're fighting a living person.
Any number of chakra strings can be used to control a puppet, but users with more skill using the technique can use fewer strings per puppet. Both Chiyo and Sasori demonstrated the ability to control entire puppets perfectly using just one string. While most puppeteers would normally be able to control ten puppets at most (one per finger), Sasori's self-modification allowed him to control up to one hundred puppets at a time.
Apart from being used to control marionettes, the chakra strings can be attached to other objects, allowing the user to control, or at the very least disrupt, other things. In one instance, Kankuro uses chakra strings to trip Naruto Uzumaki when they first meet. In another, Chiyo uses chakra strings to control Sakura Haruno like a puppet.
Quicksand in the Style of a Waterfall

This jutsu creates a massive amount of sand and sends it towards an opponent in the form of a wave, covering and engulfing them in an ocean of sand. In addition to the wave effect of the jutsu, Gaara can control the sand, allowing him to attack his opponent while they attempt to evade the wave. This appears to be the only one of Gaara's moves that requires hand seals, and in practice is virtually unavoidable. Once completed, it can cover an entire forest in sand. The follow up move is Desert Imperial Funeral, which compresses all the sand present, crushing the opponent
Red Secret Technique: Performance of a Hundred Puppets

To start this jutsu, Sasori removes two summoning scrolls from his back. He then opens his right chest compartment to emit one hundred chakra strings, which reach into the scrolls. From the scrolls, one hundred human puppets emerge, each one a defeated and converted opponent of Sasori. Sasori claims that he brought down an entire country with this jutsu.
Rope Escape Technique

A basic jutsu taught at the Konoha Ninja Academy, this jutsu allows a ninja to free themselves if they have been tied up.
Taijutsu[2] ' Butterfly Bullet Bombing
* Name: Chōdan Bakugeki, 蝶弾爆撃, literally "Butterfly Bullet Bombing" * Type: B-rank, Offensive, Short range (0-5m) * Users: Akimichi clan
This technique is used in combination with the red Akimichi food pill, which burns away all of the user's excess fat and converts it into chakra. Because the members of the Akimichi clan tend to be overweight to support their jutsu, this pill can give them 100 times their normal chakra level. To perform the jutsu, the clan member simply channels all their chakra into one hand and punches the enemy, releasing the chakra on contact. In a manner similar to how Tsunade and Sakura Haruno enhance their strength, channeling so much chakra into one hand and releasing it on contact increases the ninja's strength a hundredfold. The subsequent impact not only produces a sizable crater, but will also likely kill the one on the receiving end.
Clone Body Blow

Naruto creates numerous shadow clones to attack his enemy, which ends with Naruto diving at the target using a burst of chakra. This technique was first used with no name against Gaara when Naruto fought him during the Konoha invasion. Its name was later given in the Second Databook.
Double Piercing Fang
* Name: Gatsūga, 牙通牙, literally "Double Piercing Fang", English TV "Fang Over Fang" * Type: C-rank, Offensive, Short range (0-5m) * Users: Kiba Inuzuka and Akamaru together
The user and his partner spin at a ferocious speed and deliver many powerful beast-like attacks when contact is made with the target. The force of this attack is strong enough to drill through stone. This attack can be done alone, although it is less effective.
Double Wolf Fang
* Name: Garōga, 牙狼牙, literally "Double Wolf Fang" * Type: B-rank, Offensive, Mid to long range (5+m) * Users: Kiba Inuzuka and Akamaru together
After Akamaru uses Dynamic Marking to mark a target, both he and Kiba use Man Beast Combination Transformation: Double-Headed Wolf to become a large, two-headed wolf. The two then perform a much more powerful Double Piercing Fang attack. Like the lesser version, they spin rapidly to attack their target. Unlike the previous version, however, they move so rapidly that they can't see where they're going, hence the reason for the earlier Dynamic Marking, which allows them to track their opponents via the distinctive scent. This move is powerful enough to sever a person in two and even dent a Rashomon gate. Even if they miss, the speed of the attack is so great that the air around them can actually cut their opponents.
Such power is not without its drawbacks, however. The strain of spinning at such a speed makes using the attack more than twice impossible. After the second use, both Kiba and Akamaru are practically incapable of fighting.
Dynamic Entry

This jutsu is simply a flying jump kick at an enemy before being spotted. Lee's version tends to be much slower than Guy's, reflecting a difference in skill.
Tenten uses a move that appears to be much like Dynamic Entry in the Gekkitou Ninja Taisen series of games.
Dynamic Marking

This jutsu involves Akamaru urinating on a target, allowing both him and Kiba Inuzuka to track it by scent. The two practice this in the forest, and Akamaru is accurate enough to hit multiple targets in rapid succession. This is a prerequisite for using Double Wolf Fang, since the speed of the technique makes it impossible for the user to see while using it. Akamaru's urine is apparently caustic, given Sakon's comment that it burned when Akamaru urinated in his eyes.

The eight chakra gates are eight specific points on a person's chakra circulatory system. They limit the overall flow of chakra within a person's body. The basis for the idea of the chakra gates comes from the body's limits on the functions within it. This makes the body much weaker, but it keeps the body from expiring too soon. By opening these gates, the user can surpass their own physical limits at the cost of extreme damage to their own bodies. Rock Lee is able to open the first five gates. Guy, who taught Lee the skill, is able to open at least six. Kakashi can open at least one gate, as shown in during Kakashi's one-handed rock climbing where a shot of his brain shows the relevant point activating. The gates and what they release are listed below:
1. Opening (Initial) releases the brain's limit on the total strain on the muscles, giving the user five times their normal strength. The user can perform the Front Lotus at this level. 2. Rest (Heal / Energy) releases the brain's limit on the body's stamina, making a battle-worn person become miraculously ready to fight as if the fight had just started. 3. Life is located on the spinal cord, and releases the limit on the nervous system, which makes information travel at a faster rate and creates even more stamina. As a side effect, the user's skin turns red, indicating an increased blood-oxygen level. The user can perform the Reverse Lotus at this level. 4. Pain (Harm / Wound) releases the limit on oxygen intake in the lungs, creating much more oxygen for the body to use. 5. Closing (Limit) releases the limit on the amount of chakra released at one time. 6. Joy (View) removes the limit on how much fat and proteins the intestines can digest, and releases otherwise useless energy resources, giving the user even more power and stamina. The user can perform the Morning Peacock at this level. 7. Shock (Wonder / Insanity) removes the limit on how fast the body can move, removes wastes from dead skin cells to feces, and gives the body a much cleaner system to work with, producing even more power and stamina. 8. Death opens the final gate located at the heart and uses up all of the body's energy. It makes the heart pump at maximum power and exceeds the power of every other gate. All the energy in every individual cell is used up, giving the user power well above that of any Kage. This "big bang" effect is only temporary, and destroys every muscle in the user's body, including the heart. Death is assured when opening this gate.
Eight Trigrams Empty Palm

This jutsu is similar in practice to Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin, but has a specific target rather than a general area. To perform it, Neji does a palm thrust at an opponent while expelling a large burst of chakra from his palm. This violently pushes the opponent away. The opponent does not need to be within his reach for the attack to be effective.

This jutsu utilizes the chakra control gained through Gentle Fist training to release a huge amount of chakra from the user's chakra points when struck. The released chakra blocks any possible attack. The user then spins themselves rapidly to parry the attack, both creating a shield of chakra around themselves and tossing away any would-be attackers. The spin also allows the user to defend the blindspot in their Byakugan.

This jutsu closes off sixty-four specific chakra points (tenketsu) on an opponent's body with the Gentle Fist style, effectively eliminating their ability to use chakra for quite some time and making it quite difficult for them to move. It begins with the closing of two chakra points, followed by four more, then eight, then sixteen, then thirty-two, and then sixty-four strikes. Each set of strikes is done at an increasing pace. In the anime, Neji Hyuga uses a doubled version of this attack. The symbol that appears beneath the user while performing this technique is the Taoist symbol, Bagua.
In the Naruto video games the number of strikes is halved, with the number of strikes adding up to sixty-four rather than the final blow consisting of sixty-four individual strikes.
Front Lotus

This jutsu requires opening the first chakra gate, giving the user five times their normal strength. Having prepared for the jutsu by unwrapping the bandages on his arms, the user kicks his opponent into the air, and then performs Shadow of the Dancing Leaf. Once he is behind his opponent, he then wraps the arm bandages around them, and grabs them in a bear hug, then piledrives them into the ground while spinning rapidly. The resulting impact will likely kill his opponent, though this has yet to happen due to extenuating circumstances. Because it uses one of the chakra gates, the user is left extremely fatigued, making this jutsu a "double-edged sword." Guy's version involves him uppercutting the opponent, grabbing them (breaking their bones), and slamming them head first into the ground. In the third episode of Naruto: Shippūden, Kakashi displayed his own version of this ability; while it worked the same way as Lee's version, Kakashi managed to wrap up to three opponents, which were actually three of Naruto Uzumaki's shadow clones.
The word renge puns with rengeki (連撃), which means "combo."

The Gentle Fist style of combat aims to damage the body's chakra circulatory system, thus inhibiting an opponent's use of chakra. To do this, the user will forcefully insert a small amount of their own chakra into an opponent's chakra circulatory system, causing the targeted area to rupture or divert flow. Alternatively, or as an additional effect, the same method can be used to damage the opponent's internal organs, to which the chakra circulatory system is closely tied. Even the slightest tap from this style can cause major damage, hence the name. Because the chakra circulatory system is invisible, the Byakugan is required for this style to be used effectively. As there is no way to train the internal organs to become stronger, this technique is capable of causing damage no matter how physically powerful the opponent is.
Human Bullet Tank

Human Bullet Tank is a jutsu passed down in the Akimichi clan. After the user uses Multi-Size Technique to make themselves into a human-sized ball, they tuck their limbs inside their clothes and use chakra to propel themselves into a quick, devastating roll.
Leaf Gale

This jutsu is a set-up attack for a stronger jutsu. It consists of a simple, but very fast, duck followed by a powerful upward kick, which sends the opponent flying. When Guy uses this attack, he covers his foot in chakra to enhance it, making his version C-ranked.

This jutsu is a variant of Rock Lee's Front Lotus, which Sasuke develops after using his Sharingan to copy the first part of the move. Because Lee wasn't given the chance to finish the attack, Sasuke makes his own ending to it.
like Lee, Sasuke gets to the point where he does Shadow of the Dancing Leaf to get behind an airborne opponent. Afterwards, his is different. He starts with a kick to the left side of his opponent (the easiest part to block). From there he does a backhand strike to the face, one straight punch to the gut to send the opponent towards the ground and finishes with a spinning kick that lands his left heel on the center of the opponent just as they both hit the ground. Sasuke tends to use different moves each time he does this technique, though the ending is always a kick to the chest.
Mega Palm Thrust

This is used after the Multi-Size Technique. By funneling chakra into his hands, Choji is able to cause extensive crushing damage to anything that may be caught under his thrusting palms.
Morning Peacock
* Name: Asa Kujaku, 朝孔雀, literally "Morning Peacock" * Type: Unknown * Users: Might Guy
Exclusive to Might Guy, this jutsu opens six of the eight chakra gates to give the user unmatched speed and strength. After the gates are open, Guy will approach his opponent in a somewhat distinctive stance and, once he gets close enough, kick them into the air. He then punches his opponent over and over, causing a peacock-like fan of flaming chakra to develop. Once Guy is finished, his opponent will fall back to the ground, covered in the attack's aura.
Unlike Rock Lee's Reverse Lotus, which uses less gates and leaves Lee much worse off, Guy is not visibly injured after using the attack, (although he is left weary). However, this may be due to the comparatively shorter period of time he opened the gates for, as well as his own personal experience.
Piercing Fang

This jutsu is an advanced and more destructive version of the Front Lotus, which requires that at least three chakra gates be opened (in every instance in which it has been used, five gates are opened). Once enough gates are open, the user launches the target into the air and then jumps after them, striking them quickly in the pattern of a triangle and then hits them with one arm and one foot, sending the target crashing into the ground. This is usually fatal due to the speed and power behind the attack. Because so many chakra gates are opened at once, it can only be used once, since the user will likely be unable to stand afterward. Guy's version involves him launching the enemy into the air, spinning like a drill, and delivering a bone-shattering punch.
Shadow of the Dancing Leaf

While the target is airborne, the user jumps in such a way as to appear below the target while following a similar trajectory through the air. Since the victim is airborne, he is in a vulnerable position to a more damaging attack.
Using his Sharingan, Sasuke was able to copy this move when Rock Lee used it on him. Unlike Lee, however, he hasn't had sufficient training to avoid the body strain from using the technique.

This jutsu is basically the same as the Human Bullet Tank, but Choji wraps himself in kunai tied to strings to make it more damaging. The kunai also make him move faster since Choji has more traction than in his normal ball form. After the timeskip, Choji can do this without using kunai by growing and hardening his hair in a manner very similar to Jiraiya's Needle Guardian jutsu.
Strong Fist

Strong Fist is Guy's and Lee's characteristic fighting style, the purpose of which is to cause external damage and break bones. Additionally, they have learned to open the eight chakra gates, allowing them to briefly increase their physical limits in exchange for severe physical damage after the effects have worn off. In fact, the eighth gate is assured to cause death if opened, while the other seven merely cause exponential degrees of physical damage.
Sasuke does not actually use this style, but rather a few specific elements that he copied from Rock Lee using his Sharingan.

This is a very simple jutsu with a very over-dramatized name. All the user does is forcefully plunge their index and middle fingers into their opponent's rectum, usually causing severe constipation and embarrassment among other things. The technique is similar to a childish prank known as a kancho.
Its rank varies from user to user based on just what they do with it. For example, Kakashi used it to launch Naruto a ridiculous distance, perhaps amplifying the attack with chakra. Though this is usually used for a laugh, Naruto later figured out the true purpose of the jutsu, if it can be called such: it is used in conjunction with a pointed object (usually a kunai) to attack the blind spot of an opponent. When combined with explosive tags, it can even kill an opponent.
The official name for this technique is "Sennen Goroshi". However, the name is sometimes thought erroneously to be "Sennen Gurushi" (千年苦し), meaning something along the lines of "Thousand Years of Pain". It could be construed that the original fansubbers, when translating the fourth episode, in which the jutsu debuted, heard the name as "Sennen Gurushi".

These jutsu are only present in the anime adaptation of the Naruto manga.
Assimilated Rock Tank
* Name: Dōka Sanseki Sensha, literally "Assimilated Rock Tank" * Type: Unknown * Users: Nagare
This jutsu is a copied version of the Akimichi clan's Human Bullet Tank jutsu, the only difference being that the user uses the Leech All Creation: Attack Prevention Technique to fuse with a nearby rock and collect the necessary mass to perform it, instead of creating it themselves. Additionally, using rock powder makes it more damaging, since the resulting human ball is made of a much stronger and heavier material.
Clone Spinning Heel Drop

Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms

This jutsu is essentially a doubled version of Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms. Like the former, it closes off the opponent's chakra points in an exponentially increasing number of quick successive strikes. Unlike the former, it closes off twice as many at twice the speed. Alternatively, it can be used to hit a great number of targets very quickly. It has a slightly different stance than the lesser form in which the upper body is slightly rotated to the right. This stance activates the characters at the edge of the divination field to begin the technique.
Intercepting Technique
* Name: Kōsa Ho, 遮断の技術, literally "Intercepting Technique" * Type: Unknown * Users: Gensho
In this jutsu, Gensho is able to intercept and counter an oncoming taijutsu technique by raising the knee, and driving the elbow downwards at the same time. This catches the attacking limb between his two limbs, and drives the elbow down with great force, effectively shattering the bone. Gensho used this technique to "break" Rock Lee's Konoha Whirlwind by intercepting Lee's attacking leg. Even while Lee's ankle was not broken due to protection from his ankle weight, he was forced to completely halt his training until the injury was completely healed.
Peregrine Falcon Drop

In this jutsu, Sasuke grabs a falling opponent by their ankles, wraps his legs around their waist, and drives them head first into the ground, similar to the end of Rock Lee's Front Lotus. Sasuke used the technique twice in the anime without a name; its name was established by the Naruto collectible card game and fighting games for the GameCube and PlayStation 2.

This jutsu is a combination of the Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin and the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms. In this jutsu, Hinata emits a constant stream of chakra from her palms, creating extremely sharp chakra blades. With her natural flexibility, Hinata can reach any point around her, allowing her to hit any target within her field of vision. While using this jutsu, Hinata moves extremely fast (her movements become a blur), allowing her to hit hundreds of targets with extreme precision, much like the original Sixty-Four Palms jutsu. Additionally, Hinata can control the size of the chakra beams in her palms, allowing her to create larger, arc-shaped chakra beams that spread out across her entire attack range. This creates an "absolute defense" effect similar to that of the Heavenly Spin, though the cutting nature of the chakra prevents any outside force from restricting it. In this way, the technique can be used as both an offensive and defensive maneuver.

Golden Thunder Power

Once completed, a tree and roots will grow at the target's feet and restrict their movements. Once the opponent believes that they are captured, the user can then appear above their opponent from the tree's trunk and kill the target. In the Kurama clan filler arc of the anime, this jutsu seems to be quite versatile, with a wide range of variations on the standard nature theme. In addition to the disappearing and tree-growing effects of the jutsu, the user can produce flowers, seedpods, vines and multiple trees.
Temple of Nirvana Technique

The Dead Demon Consuming Seal is a seal that invokes the powers of the death god (shinigami). Once called upon, the death god hovers behind the user and remains invisible to the opponent until it has grasped their soul. Unlike many of the other seals used throughout the series, the Dead Demon Consuming Seal has served different purposes for each of it uses. When first used by the Fourth Hokage, it sealed the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox within Naruto Uzumaki. Once the demon fox was sealed within Naruto, the Fourth used a Four Symbols Seal (四象封印, Shishō Fūin?, English TV "Double Tetragram Seal") and the Eight Trigrams Sealing Style (八卦の封印式, Hakke no Fūin Shiki?, English TV "Eight Signed Seal") so that the demon fox's chakra could mix with Naruto's.
When later used by the Third Hokage's shadow clones, the Dead Demon Consuming Seal sealed the souls of the First and Second Hokage within the clones' bodies. When used again by the actual Third Hokage, it sealed Orochimaru's arms, preventing their use.
Once summoned, the death god reaches its arm into the summoner, signifying the hold it has upon the summoner's soul. Once the sealing is completed, the death god consumes the user's soul almost immediately afterwards. In the cases of the first two Hokages, the death god consumed their souls in addition to the souls of the clones, suggesting that it consumes whatever souls are present within the user's body. Once a soul has been eaten by the death god, it resides within the death god's stomach, destined to do battle with its fellow souls for all eternity.
Evil Sealing Method

This jutsu is used by Kakashi on Sasuke Uchiha's Cursed Seal of Heaven to hamper its activation. This seal is dependent on the recipient's willpower to some extent.
Fire Sealing Method

This jutsu allows the user to seal nearby fire. The user writes the seal on a scroll and then performs the required handseals. This causes a vapor to appear from the scroll, enveloping the fire and sealing it on the scroll as the kanji for seal (封). Jiraiya used this jutsu to seal away the left over black fire from Itachi Uchiha's Amaterasu technique, an impressive feat, considering that Amaterasu's flames are as hot as the sun.
Five Elements Seal

This jutsu is used to strengthen the seal on the demon fox. The original seal allowed the demon fox's chakra to seep out into Naruto Uzumaki, but the additional seal disturbs this, preventing Naruto from using the demon fox's chakra or even controlling his own chakra properly. This is because an odd-numbered seal creates an imbalance when placed on top of an even-numbered seal. The five elements in the seal are probably wood (木), fire (火), earth (土), metal (金), and water (水) though it may possibly refer to the Japanese five elements version which contains earth (chi), water (sui), fire (ka), wind (fū), and void/heaven (kū). This is difficult to ascertain as many Japanese anime and manga will use either version.
Five Elements Unseal

This jutsu undoes the Five Elements Seal, once again allowing Naruto Uzumaki to properly control his chakra and access the demon fox's chakra.
Five Seal Barrier
* Name: Gofū Kekkai, 五封結界, literally "Five Seal Barrier" * Type: Unknown * Users: Akatsuki
This jutsu involves a seal placed to create a barrier and four other seals placed around the vicinity. The barrier seal restricts entry while the other four prevent the seal from being removed. All five must be removed at the same time for the barrier to fall. The other four seals can be scattered across a considerable distance, at least a kilometer, making them difficult to locate.
In addition to the barrier made by the seals, the four scattered seals used by Akatsuki have an additional booby trap in place should anyone remove them. When removed, a clone of the person that removed them is produced from the ground. The clone seems to be an exact copy, as Tenten's clone had a working weapons scroll as well as the knowledge to use it. Conversely, the clones do not seem to be as powerful as the original, as all the clones were defeated within a short period of time and with no injuries to the genuine article.

This jutsu is used by the Akatsuki leader and his subordinates in tandem to forcibly drain the spirit and chakra of the tailed beasts from their hosts, then seal it in a large statue. The jutsu takes three days to complete. Kisame Hoshigaki commented that the jutsu takes longer without Orochimaru present, though whether this means that Orochimaru created the jutsu, or that the presence of all ten Akatsuki members is necessary for the greatest efficiency is unknown.
To prepare for the jutsu, the Akatsuki leader summons the sealing statue and each member stands on one of its fingers, corresponding to their specific ring finger. When performed, this jutsu causes the bit to fall out of the mouth of the statue. Each of the Akatsuki members present then concentrate, causing the kanji of their ring to appear on the nail of the finger they're standing on. Nine dragon-like effigies then pour from the statue's mouth, surround the captured host, and remove the tailed beast from them (the process seems quite agonizing to the host). In the case of an unsealed tailed beast, the same thing happens to the beast itself.
Shadow Seal: Release

This jutsu releases the massive amounts of chakra stored inside the seal on Tsunade's forehead. She then may use this chakra for many things like for her Creation Rebirth, a powerful regeneration technique.
Cursed Sea

This seal is given to all branch house members in the Hyuga clan by members of the main house. Its main purpose is to seal their Byakugan ability should they die, preventing an enemy from learning its secrets. Its secondary purpose is to control the branch house, since it can be activated at will by a main house member with a hand seal that only they know about. The seal is placed on the wearer's forehead at an early age, and is only removed upon their death. It works by destroying the wearer's brain cells.
In the original manga and Viz's volume distribution of the manga, the seal is shown as a manji similar to a swastika. In the anime and Viz's monthly distribution of the manga, it was changed to a simple saltire for fears of negative reactions, as the opposite-facing swastika was adopted as the symbol of the Nazi party.
Orochimaru's cursed seals
Orochimaru commonly uses cursed seals on his most powerful followers. To apply a cursed seal, Orochimaru needs to actually bite his intended target. Because he has sharp fangs and an extendable neck, this is a relatively simple task. The seal then appears somewhere on the target's body, and they subsequently lose consciousness. Sometime later, should they survive, they will awaken with the first level of the seal active and be enraged due to the seal's influence. The seals work by forcibly drawing chakra from the user's body, giving the user a chakra capacity beyond what they would normally be capable of, as well as increased physical performance as a result of the increased chakra capacity.
The seal has two different levels, and the types of transformations differ from seal to seal. When inactive, the seal is simply a black tattoo on the user's body. Orochimaru has a wide array of cursed seals, so the appearance of the seal will usually vary from user to user. Each seal always has three identical marks arranged in a circular pattern. When first activated, the marks on the seal glow and replicate, spreading over the user's body. This is known as the first level of the seal. The degree to which this occurs is dependent on the user, and the degree to which it spreads is proportionate to the overall effect it has. The second and final level of the seal causes the black marks to completely envelop the user. This is followed by an unnatural alteration of the user's body, with the only common features being yellow eyes with a black sclera. When in this level, the seal eats away at the user's personality, driving them to madness if used too long. It also takes quite a toll on their body, since they are being mutated by the seal. Aside from the first and second levels of the seal, skilled users of the seal are able to perform partial transformations in which the aforementioned mutation caused to the users body in the level two state can be used without completely altering the entire body.
Because the seals forcibly draw chakra from the user, they will often kill the user when first applied. Orochimaru has averaged a ten-percent success rate when applying these seals. Additionally, even if the user survives, their body will not be able to easily control the power the seals give them. To compensate for this, Orochimaru developed the Seishingan drug. The drug forces the user's body to become accustomed to the unnatural increase in power, but also kills the one who takes it. The Four Black Fog Formation Seal technique is used to keep the drug from killing the user by placing them in a temporary death state. Though the Sound Four were the ones to perform the technique, it stands to reason that they weren't the ones that created it.
Orochimaru developed the cursed seals through experimentation on a prisoner named Jugo, whose body naturally produces an enzyme that triggers a state on which the cursed seal is based. The difference between Orochimaru's seals and the unrefined enzyme are the effect they have: while the cursed seal is controllable, the unrefined enzyme produces uncontrollable rage in those exposed to it, including Jugo himself, and the effects cannot be controlled.[1]

This seal consists of three tomoe, similar to the Sharingan. It is the counterpart to the Cursed Seal of Earth, and the two seals are the strongest of all the cursed seals that Orochimaru uses. The seal spreads over the user's body like flame when activated.
Anko received her cursed seal while she was a student of Orochimaru. She, along with nine others, were the first people to receive a cursed seal. She was the only one to survive the application, establishing the one-in-ten chance of surviving the application of a cursed seal, but lacked the necessary will to use it. As such, her seal receded and Orochimaru wiped her memory. Orochimaru was able to reactivate it when they fought in the Forest of Death. Orochimaru was disappointed when he learned she lacked the malice to use the seal. Since Anko never uses her seal, her mutated form is never seen.
Sasuke also survived the application of the cursed seal. Orochimaru gives it to him against his will during the second stage of the Chunin exam. Orochimaru gave it to him as a test of the Uchiha clan's abilities, as well as a way to prepare Sasuke for becoming his next host. After Sasuke won his battle during the preliminary matches of the Chunin exam, Kakashi Hatake used the Evil Sealing Method to restrict the cursed seal, although its effectiveness is dependent on Sasuke's willpower. Regardless, Sasuke came to rely on the Heaven seal's power, thus weakening Kakashi's seal. Sasuke unlocked the Heaven seal's full power with the help of the Sound Four. When the second level of the seal is active, Sasuke's skin turns dark-gray and his hair grows much longer without losing its style. Additionally, he grows hand-shaped wings from his back and a dark, star-shaped mark appears on the bridge of his nose.

The counterpart of the Cursed Seal of Heaven, this seal was given to Kimimaro by Orochimaru in the hope that he might one day become his next host. Unfortunately for the both of them, Kimimaro contracted a fatal disease. The seal consists of three slightly curved lines, which spread in a square pattern. When the second level of the seal is active, Kimimaro takes on a dinosaur-like appearance, complete with a tail. Several large bones also protrude from his skin, and his skin becomes dark brownish-maroon.
Sound Four's Cursed Seals
Each member of the Sound Four uses a cursed seal. Their seals, however, are not as powerful as the Heaven and Earth seals, although they have similar end results.
* Jirobo's cursed seal consists of three triangles. When the second level of his seal is active, his skin turns red and his hair grows longer. He also grows warts on his forehead and shoulders. * Kidomaru's cursed seal consists of three spirals. When the second level of his seal is active, a third eye opens on his forehead and his hair grows longer. He also grows horns on his forehead and his elbows. * Sakon and Ukon both have the same type of cursed seal, which consists of three irregularly-shaped dots. When the second level of their seals are active, they resemble ogres with red skin, a single horn (on opposite sides for each brother), and can grow black armor from their bodies. They can also extend their fusing abilities to someone other than each other. * Tayuya's cursed seal consists of three hooks, similar to a triskelion. When the second level of her seal is active, her hair grows longer, she grows five oddly-placed horns, and her skin turns dark brown. The horns grow when she exerts herself.
Mizuki's Cursed Seal
Mizuki was shown to have received a mark similar to a cursed seal in the anime. This was not a cursed seal, however, but actually a blueprint to one of Orochimaru's forbidden experiments. Like Orochimaru's regular cursed seals, it glows red when activated, but the only accompanying change is the appearance of instructions on the tattoo. The experiment used a device to mix various animal-based chemicals into a digestible red liquid, which in turn gave the drinker animal-like abilities. Mizuki's tattoo, shaped like the device, identified the order in which to mix the chemicals.
After stealing the necessary ingredients from the Nara clan's medical laboratory, Mizuki created the potion and drank it. This increased his musculature, caused three tiger-like stripes to appear on his arms, and increased his physical attributes in much the same manner as a cursed seal. Additionally, he was able to channel all of his chakra into strength and the energy changed his appearance to resemble a tiger's. As a side effect of focusing all his chakra on strength, his speed decreased dramatically.
Though quite effective, Orochimaru neglected to tell Mizuki that the potion was so far incomplete, drinking it burned up all the energy in Mizuki's cells, leaving him a withered husk of a person. This would have killed him in normal circumstances, but Tsunade's medical expertise saved him from what would otherwise have meant his death. Unfortunately for Mizuki, the damage caused left him unable to ever continue his life as a ninja.
