[edit] Rename?

Shouldn't this be renamed Category:Uncategorized people, since that is the correct spelling? --theblueflamingoSpeak 07:27, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

The ize version is American spelling, the ise version is typical, though apparently not official, British spelling. Both are basically correct spellings, so there's no need to go through the trouble of renaming the category. See WP:ENGVAR or American and British English spelling differences for more details. -David Schaich Talk/Cont 20:43, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I guess the ise is okay then. I'm just nitpicky like that..thanks for your quick response though. -theblueflamingoSpeak 06:34, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Organization

Wouldn't making the names inserted by LAST NAME as opposed to first name make more sense? Mrobviousjosh 02:50, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure how you could do that to every name automatically, unless someone edited each article individually, adding DEFAULTSORT. T@nn 11:57, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

You cant, it goes by Article Name.. you'd have to rename every article first.

[edit] Contradiction/ PAradox

How can one have a category of uncategorised people? By putting them in a category, they're no long uncategorised, but then taking them out means they're no longer categorised and means putting them back in.. This category ideally should be renamed to avoid paradoxes. Cheers, Jonomacdrones (talk) 13:18, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

  • It's more like insufficiently categorised people than uncategorised people. --Guthrie 13:39, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Useful templates for this cat?

Could I get some advice for templates to address common problems in this categorization process?

I'm not totally sure of what templates to use in cases like:

  • vanity pages
  • libel
  • indisputable non-notability

Should I just use a "db" delete tag, or should I get more specific? Is just "autobiography" a good solution to vanity pages? I'm reluctant to use it, since technically there are plenty of fluff bio pages by friends/family.

It's actually quite amusing seeing all the people pages, I should start a list of fun sentences: "...one of the most prominent female photographers in Warwickshire" said of someone born in 1984... MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:32, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
