[edit] Template

Is there an associated template with this page, like {{uncat-album}}? --Elonka 02:51, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

I think you just put the Album in [Category:Uncategorised albums]. A proper template would be nice, though. --Sepa 19:15, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Is this ever used?

Is this category used by anyone? If not, it should be deleted. It seems completely useless to have a category that is almost always empty. Piet 12:40, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

I've added a couple dozen articles to it, though I think that one of the reasons that they clear out so fast, is because they're easy to find (sort of like a specific stub sort). My recommendation is that we keep the category for now while we're doing the massive "sweep" for uncategorized articles, but once we get caught up, we may want to consider deleting it. --Elonka 04:20, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I would be in favor of keeping this category - I sort albums into it at the rate of about 20 - 50 per day, and they are always efficiently categorised - that's why it's empty. In fact, this category's being empty shows how effective and relevant it is. Aelfthrytha 12:10, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
I would strongly support keeping it - it's one of those categories that's meant to be emptied and filled again as we sort the albums that are put into it. W guice 13:22, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I strongly support keeping as per above, there are no grounds to delete it. It is an extremely useful tool for Wikipedia:Wikiproject Albums. -- Reaper X 17:59, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Z, Uncategorized

The catergory is mispelled.--Rayc 03:00, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

No, it isn't. The 's' spelling is historically French leading to American, the 'z' historically Greek and Latin leading to British English (and what's known as "Oxford English"). They've been accepted as interchangeable for at least a century. See here. W guice 10:06, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Wikimedia is "organized under the laws of the state of Florida"[1], USA. So I think it would only be proper to stick to american english. I'm sure there is an official policy on this dispute, I'll look for it. -- Reaper X 21:22, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Okay, it says in the Manual of Style that "Articles should use the same dialect throughout." So maybe if someone could check into the spelling of other article titles in the Wikipedia namespace.

I disagree with your move proposal because I feel that it favors one variant of English over another when there is no reason to do so. Aelfthrytha 19:20, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
I believe there is no need to move it as per above as well. I have removed the tag not only for that reason, but because it was never noted at Wikipedia:Requested moves either, which it should have been. -- Reaper X 19:42, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Whatever, it's just a bit odd when filling this category from Category:Uncategorized with a different spelling.--Rayc 17:36, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A category of things uncategorised...

...brilliant. It's right up there with Talk:Talk and Talk:TalkTalk. :-) --3M163//Complete Geek 10:36, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] dvds?

In the process of categorizing albums, when we come upon singles and Dvds, should they be put in with the artist's albums? For example: the Feelin' So Good (DVD) release by J.lo, should that be put in under [Category:Jennifer Lopez albums]? I'd say yes.
