Not really what I would call hard facts. Although you live in Umeå, you obviously do not like hardcore, and may not be fully aware of the hardcore scene. Living in Linköping, I was amazed when I realized the width and underground spreading that hardcore had here.

Being born, raised an still livning in Umeå, though not a vegetarian or a big fan of hardcore punk, it is my view that vegetarianism as well as the hardcore scene in Umeå is mostly a characteristic of the (early) 90s, and that they have diminished significantly since then. All of the bands refered to in the article begun in 80s/90s shift, I have never heard of any newer bands, even less heard of any recent international success. The article makes it sound like an ongoing thing. Small Text
