Umar Sulayman al-Ashqar

Dr. Umar Sulayman 'Abd-Allaah al-Ashqar is the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Law, at al-Zarqa’ University in Zarqa, Jordan.

He was a student of the Hadith scholar Muhammad Nasir ad-din al-Albani, though his religious views have changed significantly since Albani's death.

Ashqar is known for his support of the Muslim Brotherhood. He has also claimed that it is obligatory for the Muslim world to support the Second Intifada.[1]
