  • Wikipedia has general style conventions, listed in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style, for the sake of consistency all articles should try to conform to them. Links such as those you are adding are not found in other articles, and adding them would require a change guidelines that should be discussed at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style. Personally I do not see those links as very useful. Who reading Akershus Fortress will want to then read list of masts? Filling the see also section with tangentially related pages also makes it more difficult to find the relevant listings. - SimonP July 4, 2005 03:59 (UTC)

Chill out man... first of all totally agree that is to many links. Second, there a LOT of links on some of those pages so it is not that wierd (some have like 15 links!)! However, having just some new links (like 1-2) for some does fit with those rules. Yes, I was wrong to add so many links, but it would have be nicer not to just undoe it all.



I see the category links- but the links do not have to be repetetive ones you know. In any case I see you are interested in just reverting everything rather then working together on this. That is not even convention according to the links infrgrmatio gave me, many pages have a few links sections!

Well I agree that was to many links before. However, according to this it should be ok to add some links such as related articles and lists. You should read infrogramations links as well, as it was not right to just revert all according to these rules.

In any case, this has not been fun, and I don't understand why you were not more civil about this. I had no interest in breaking the rules and I just wanted to add some links like I had seen. Good day and good night sir/mam!

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Yes I had seen this, a good idea which I started out doing. However, after looking at a number of pages it can be discovered that often, if not most of the time, it is not filled out by people making edits (especially for edits that do not change data or meanings)

Hello there, welcome to Wikipedia. Although you might not see any use for it, it's still good ediquette to use the box. It annoys many editors when users don't make use of the edit summary box.
Also, you might want to, when on talk pages, sign each entry with four tildes (~~~~). That will automatically display your user name and the date and time of your comment.
