The Siberian Elm Ulmus pumila cultivar 'Aurescens' is a rare variety first mentioned by Dieck [2] in Neuheiten-Offerten, Nat. - Arb. Zöschen, Germany, 1894-95, as U. pinnato-ramosa f. aurescens. Described as having yellowish leaves on emergent shoots, it originated in the National Arboretum, Zöschen, near Merseburg, Germany [1]. A specimen grows in a private garden in Seaford, East Sussex, UK. 'Aurescens' is not known to have been introduced to North America or Australasia.
