The Chinese Elm Ulmus parvifolia cultivar 'Seiju' is a dwarf variety that originated as a sport of 'Hokkaido' that featured larger leaves. [1] Described as smaller than Catlin and faster growing than Hokkaido, the tree is commercially available in the USA and Australia where it is popular as a bonsai subject [2]. The tree was also listed in the UK until 2002.
