Ulmus × hollandica 'Ypreau' is one of a number of cultivars arising from the crossing of the Wych Elm U. glabra with a variety of Field Elm U. minor. First identified by Poederlé [2] in Man. Arb. For. Belg. 266, 1772, as l'orme Ypreau, the tree is distinguished by its Tilia-like leaves, and was once commonly planted in the region of Ypres, Belgium [1]. 'Ypreau' is not known to remain in cultivation.
NB.The cultivar name 'Ypreau' has also been given to varieties of Poplar and Willow, resulting in some confusion.
