[edit] Summary

The duration and pressure of the hose-stream test are a direct function of the length of the test and the size of the test sample. The most typical test pressure is 30PSI, though 45PSI may also be used for fire tests. The United States Navy actually insists on the use of a 90PSI hose-stream tests, presumably because that is the pressure at the base of their fire-fighting nozzles, though that would miss the point behind hose-stream, testing, notwithstanding the rigours of combat.
