[edit] 1973

Main article: Langford Budville
  • On October 16 1973, it is alleged that Gabriella Versacci was taken on board an alien space ship near a small Somerset village. She was physically inspected when strapped down to an examination table.

[edit] 1979

  • The Robert Taylor Incident, is the name given an event which occurred in Dechmont Law hill near Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland in 1979, in which local forester Robert "Bob" Taylor reported encountering an extraterrestrial spacecraft. It is notable as being the first reported UFO case to have been officially investigated by the Scottish Lothian and Borders Police. As of 2007, it was the only recorded incident in which a UFO sighting has been the subject of a criminal investigation in the United Kingdom.

[edit] 1980

  • The Rendlesham Forest Incident is the name given to a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights and objects in the sky, and the alleged landing of an extraterrestrial spacecraft, in December 1980, in the vicinity of Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, England. Along with the Berwyn Mountain Incident, it is perhaps the most famous UFO event to have happened in Britain, ranking amongst the best-known UFO events worldwide. It has been compared to the Roswell UFO incident in the United States and is, amongst Americans, commonly referred to as "Britain's Roswell" or the "English Roswell".

[edit] 1983

Main article: Basingstoke Canal
  • On August 12 1983, a 77 year old gentleman, Alfred Burtoo, was quietly fishing on the Basingstoke Canal when a UFO landed nearby. Two humanoid beings beckoned him onto their disc-shaped vehicle and he was medically examined by English-speaking creatures. He was 'rejected' by the creatures because he was 'too old'.

[edit] 1997

Main article: Howden Moor Incident
  • The Howden Moor Incident took place on March 24, 1997 at about 22:00 on the Dark Peak. Two sonic booms were heard over the area, and recorded at this time, but the RAF denied having supersonic aircraft in the area. They later helped in the night-long search for a crashed aircraft, using helicopters and sniffer dogs from the police with 150 Mountain Rescue volunteers. No wreckage was found. A triangle-shaped UFO had been seen an hour before the sonic booms in the local area.

[edit] 2000

Main article: Bonsall UFO
  • The Bonsall UFO was an incident said to occur at 21.15 on October 5, 2000, in Bonsall in Derbyshire, near Matlock, where a woman named Sharon Rowlands of Slaley claims to have observed a large luminous object, with a shimmering pink colour, hovering and rotating over a nearby field. She captured many minutes of the object on a camcorder. The video shows an out-of-focus ball of light that at one point appears to be made out of concentric circles similar to that of a photographic orb. The video she made is slightly out-of-focus as she tries to zoom in closer to the object. Rowlands reported it to her local newspaper, the Matlock Mercury, which then reported on her story; a report also appeared in the "Daily Mail" on February 9, 2001.

[edit] 2007

  • The Dudley Dorito UFO sightings have been reported since November 2007 with numerous people from the West Midlands conurbation reporting sightings of a silent triangle shaped object in the skies in the evening. Local media suspected the sightings were related to secret testing of the new Eurofighter Typhoon from nearby RAF Shawbury.
