[edit] Name Change?

Does anyone have a clue why the name was mutilated 80's-style? --unsigned

Short answer: marketing. There appear to be different names used:
  • UFO Princess Valkyrie (円盤皇女ワるきゅーレ), the original Japanese title. There also appears to be a Valkyrie vs. Walküre difference, but I'm not too sure what it is.
The first run of english fansubs used names such as "Valkyrie Princess Warukure" and this quite possibly propagated the word "warukure" for some time. Until the 2nd season came out, both warukure and valkyrie were used in fan bulletin board discussions.AnimeJanai 00:10, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
  • UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie, the title used by ADV films for its distribution of the anime. When an anime is licensed, the licensee's name choice is given precedence over the original name on Wikipedia.

ANN Lists both the mentioned OAV (Seireisetsu no Hanayome) and also another OAV (SPECIAL) which takes place at the end of this season. Shouldn't that one be mentioned here somewhere. Since there's no link or article on it I think I'll add it to the infobox. Dantman 02:25, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

This pages is almsot a year out of date. It references dates in 2006 as upcoming and claims that some things may change once the dvds are released, which they were, last year. I would update this myself, but i really dont know much about this series. (Animedude 20:09, 19 April 2007 (UTC))

[edit] Fan Service

Most anime has some fan service but it is not really mentioned in context of the show. However, some shows have a great deal of fan service such as Agent Aika and fan service is usually mentioned in the description of the show. UFO Princess Valkyrie also has a lot of fan service such as bathing, breasts with nipples showing and frequent flashes of underwear. Since there is so much of it, isn't this show also in the fan service category such as Agent Aika? Maybe an anime category "Fan Service" will be created one day with this show included in that category. AnimeJanai 00:15, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
