[edit] Ranking

When and who decides the ranking, in particular when will the Emirates Stadium in London be classified? --Vivbaker 11:13, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure if/when Emirates Stadium will be given a rating but I read somewhere the stadium first has to nominate itself for hosting a Champions League final before it is assessed by UEFA. Qwghlm 23:35, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Accuracy of list

When modifying the templates I noticed that they included stadiums that are not on the referenced list. I've opened discussions at Template talk:UEFA4Star and Template talk:UEFA5Star - if anyone has any relevant information please reply there. Qwghlm 23:35, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] MCG

no MCG? :(

MCG is in Australia, and therefore, not under UEFA (the European Football Authority). Eastlygod 18:59, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit]

expalin someone why SJP is not on here

Emirates is a 5 star Stadium, so is the new Wembley. SJP is, I believe, 4 star soon to be upgraded to 5-star.

Read the criteria list. The only difference between 4* and 5* is the capacity. SJP has a capacity of over 50,000 and therefore can never be rated as a four-star stadium. This isn't a list of how "good" a ground is. It's a list based on stadia meeting set criteria. 23:19, 02 February 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.153.21.150 (talk)
I would think is was due to the airport and accommodation factors. However Teeside Airport is getting more and more international flights, so it could be in future. Eastlygod 19:03, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Wembley should be added 194.80.32.12 12:55, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

thats upto uefa not wikipedia contributors. i beleive the wembeley and emirites will be added when sufficient games have been played there. --Numberwang 16:03, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

What about the Allianz Arena --Numberwang 16:03, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Celtic Park

Shouldn't Celtic Park be on either the 4* or 5* lists?

On the UEFA website there is a comment on how there are 3 5* Stadiums in Glasgow, and includes Celtic Park in that list :

"Scottish hospitality If the bid is successful, Scotland will host the opening match and the final of the tournament, as well as three of the four groups, three quarter-finals and a semi-final. Ireland will host one of the four groups, as well as a quarter-final and a semi-final. The exact stadium details have yet to be confirmed but Glasgow's three UEFA five-star stadiums - Celtic FC's Celtic Park, Rangers FC's Ibrox stadium and Hampden Park - will be used as well as Edinburgh's Murrayfield stadium."

[edit] Wembley Stadium

What's the new Wembley rated? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xhandler (talkcontribs) 01:21, 9 May 2007 (UTC).

it needs to apply for a final to be officially rated by uefa, smething which wembley and the fa wll do soon no doubt perhaps for 2010--Numberwang 11:02, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

finally a source for this. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/columnists/kevin_eason/article1826791.ece --Numberwang 11:04, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

The news it that Wembley has been shortlisted for the CL final in 2010 or 2011. Can we infer from that, that UEFA has given it a 5 star rating http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?view=DETAILS&grid=A1YourView&xml=/sport/2007/10/23/ufnwembley123.xml 129.67.158.52 13:29, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Emirates Stadium

Did they apply for a rating? GoldDragon 22:29, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

is was probably built with the standars in mind but needs to bid to host a final before it gets officially rated.--Numberwang 11:06, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Is it now considered 4-star? It recently lost out to Hamburg SV to host the UEFA Cup in 2010- "Rival bids from Munich and Berlin were also overlooked, while Arsenal lost out to Hamburg for the 2010 Uefa Cup final." [edit] Capacity requirement change?

There's a discussion on the SkyScraperCity.com forum here, basically saying that capacity requirements have changed from 50 to 70,000 for 5-star (and from 30 to 40,000 for 4-star). Does anyone have any more info? CharlieT 22:37, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Anfield

Shouldn't Anfield be on the four star list? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.216.66.153 (talk) 00:57, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Marker missing for Stadium of Light on map

The map showing the 4 star and 5 star stadia is missing a marker for the Sunderland Stadium of Light. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.39.189.78 (talk) 18:42, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Indeed, was just going to add that. The map is quite wrong.--128.240.229.66 (talk) 11:08, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] this is so ridiculous

this page is so fucking ridiculous, how are we suppose to know whether or not the stadiums are 4 or 5 stars if UEFA don't release any info on it!? these people are saying "no that stadium is not 5 stars" but they dont provide citations for anything. you say st james' park is not 5 stars but why is it not 4 stars at least? it hosted games at the euro 96 championship. and most of the stadiums from france 98 are not listed, why not? Also that map has not citations and it does not label the stadiums either. why is there a marker for a 4 star stadium in north wales? stadium of light is not featured. What about white hart lane. this list is endless. official citations and proper explanations are in dire need.

[edit] Contradict template

Reason: map contradicts table at bottom of article (e.g., England). Ufwuct (talk) 05:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Scoreboards and video boards?

Are there any specific criteria or requirements for scoreboards and/or video replay screens? 76.21.8.213 (talk) 17:14, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Official UEFA list

Instead of keeping the contradicitions on this page and elsewhere (Wembley page has it marked as 5-star, Old Trafford page mentions it's the only 5-star stadium in England, etc]] is it not possible to find an official UEFA list somewhere? I had a brief look on the UEFA webpage, but either my searchfu isn't working, or UEFA don't publish such a list. Darkson (BOOM! An interception!) 14:30, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
