[edit] Greek Wine (Greek Version)

One of Udo's most famous songs was "Griechischer Wein" (Greek Wine) wich is now popular in Portugal (as "Vinho Verde") and supposedly in Greece, too. However, I never found a proof for that - does anybody know the exact title and interpret of the Greek version?

In Greek, it is "Kerna Krassi", sung by Udo J. himself. This version is featured on his LP "Europa nach Noten".

I changed "all his lyrics" to "all his successful lyrics", as Udo had sung lots of songs in English, French, and Italien before -- they just didn't become hits, so he switched entirely to German.

[edit] Udo Joel

  • he is sometimes compared to Billy Joel, but unlike him is backed not by a rock band, but by a full 18-piece Big Band.

This must have been a joke. --84.174.135.143 21:17, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia

  • [..]Aber Bitte mit Sahne (I'll have whipped cream with that), an Udo Jurgen's song about unattractive girls making up for amorous delusions with dessert-eating binges.

That strikes me as nonsense. It's a song criticizing exorbitance and affluent society, the lyrics give absolutely no indication for the above "interpretation".
