The Middle-earth undergraduate housing complex (for freshmen) at the University of California, Irvine in the foreground. Residence halls in this section are named after places and characters from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books. The buildings beyond are part of the graduate student housing complex. The Anteater Recreation center is the large building to the left. In the very back, beyond the fields and at the base of the hills, is Vista del Campo, the newest undergraduate housing complex.
