[edit] Fair use in Punk in Yugoslavia
- The image is from a record sleeve of the split single by former Yugoslav hardcore punk bands Patareni and U.B.R., released by the label Falšanja Kol'ko'š Records with a catalogue number: #002. As a single cover it qualifies for fair-use. It has also an appropriate "cover of an audio recording" licencing tag.
- The source is the cover of the album itself from which the photo has been taken
- Its a small file (around 60 KB)
- It is used in an educational article about the punk music history of the former Yugoslavia (which also includes relevant discographical products as illustrations). That article is: Punk in Yugoslavia.
- The copyright is probably owned by the publisher, or by the artists. A free replacement could not be found.
This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the album or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
