Tysons Land Use Task Force

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 2004, Fairfax County faced many changes to the Tysons Comprehensive Plan because of four planned Metro stations. These stations represented the potential for massive growth in the Tysons area. Thus the comprehensive plan for Tysons needed to be updated and the Board of Supervisors authorized the creation of the Tysons Land Use Task Force in March 2005 to consider the impact of these four Metros tations.

The Mission

"The mission of the task force is to gather community input and recommend updates to the Tysons Comprehensive Plan (Fairfax County Government)." The task force is composed of 36 members representing residents, businesses, major employers, and community and civic organizations. The Task Force also works with the community.

"The task force is committed to open communication and ongoing public input to its work and process. The task force continues to meet on a regular basis and encourages public attendance of its meetings. The meeting schedule lists all task force meetings and events, and the meeting information index includes meeting summaries with links to presentations, maps, and documents (Fairfax County Government)."
