Tyler Howells (born October 20, 1983 in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, U.S.) is currently a defenceman and alternate captain for the Michigan State Spartans of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.

Howells, alongside current teammate Chris Snavely, played for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League prior to Michigan State. Howells recorded 22 goals and 19 assists in a total of 59 games. He was selected to the USHL All-Rookie Team in 2003. Howells was a member of Michigan State's 2007 NCAA Championship team.
