My name is Dave Vellante. I've been an analyst in the IT business since the mid-1980's with expertise in storage, enterprise systems, software, services and industry history. I joined Wikipedia in 2006 and have made substantive contributions to the following articles:

As an industry analyst for more than twenty years I have followed these and many other companies almost continuously. I visited their operations and factories hundreds of times and personally knew or know their CEO's, many key managers, several employees and many of their customers. I watched most of the firms cited in these articles grow from garage operations to multi-billion dollar companies and have a good historical and factual perspective on them.

Inspired by Wikipedia and its tremendous contribution to the greater good, I am one of the founders of The Wikibon Project.
