29 Palms (film) was a 2003 murder mystery movie that took place on an Indian casino near the town of Twentynine Palms. I thought this was something worth adding to the article, and don't forget to check out the movie on Wikipedia. 207.200.116.12 01:51, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

The location statement at the end of this section is incorrect. Twentynine Palms may be halfway (approximately) between L.A. and Phoenix, but definitely not between L.A. and Las Vegas. Greg M., So Cal resident 10:14 a.m., 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Twentynine Palms was also a running gag of one program by the then popular radio comedian Jack Benny, whose program "chauffeur," Rochester, kept telephoning from "Twentyeight palms" etc. When corrected about the name, Rochester would reply, "Not anymore," presumably having ruined one of the palms driving.
