The poster of this blog (http://toysaregoodfood.com/content/archives/000138.html) claims he worked at a local TV station (WEYI-TV 25) and he was told that in their version of the show at least there was just someone pressing the fire button every time the kid said "pow". Perhaps larger TV stations might have gone into the trouble of making an actual system to support voice recognition (sound activation rather) but it seems unlikely to me.

This is the first time I've encountered the "sound activation" theory, and it sounds rather dubious to me. --Action Jackson IV 01:20, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
