Tuva Novotny

Tuva Moa Matilda Karolina Novotny-Hedström (born December 21, 1979 in Stockholm) is a Swedish actress and singer.
Her career started at the age of 16 when she got a role in the TV4 soap opera Skilda världar. After two years as Nora in that series, Novotny quit to pursue other roles.
She is able to speak Czech as her father is from Prague, Tuva went there to study drama but switched to studying Czech instead. After six months in Prague, Novotny returned to Sweden and her work with Skilda världar. However, she soon got offers to do other projects and quit Skilda världar to commit to new, more challenging projects.
Her name Tuva is from a native American book, where tuva nasavi means centre of the universe. Her mother is the noted Swedish sculptor, Barbro Hedström.
On 23 November, 2004, she was appointed by Prince Joachim of Denmark to be one of four Swedish "Hans Christen Andersen ambassadors" to celebrate the 200th birthday of writer H. C. Andersen in 2005.
