Talk:Tuscumbia-Courtland-Decatur Railroad

I cut the claim that it was the first "railroad to be built west of the Appalachian Mountains in the United States". The Pontchartrain Rail-Road in New Orleans is clearly also west of the Appalachians, and predates it by a couple years. Discuss "first" claims on Talk:Oldest railroads in North America. - When I wrote that, the article gave the start date as 1836, postdating the Pontchartrain; the 1829 start date now predates that. By the way, when were steam locomotives introduced to the line? -- Infrogmation 00:43, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
