"Turn Smile Shift Repeat" is track seven from Phantom Planet's second studio album, The Guest. The song's lyrics deal with Wall Street and the stock markets, in particular, a "suit" who loses his fortune to the stocks. These are considered to be some of the best lyrics by singer Alex Greenwald, and fans have said that they are reminiscent of rock band Radiohead.
""Turn Smile Shift Repeat" is about the banality of the business world", comments guitarist Darren Robinson during an interview. [1]
